Today, Riqueshaw = Problems

I just arrived “home” (to the guest house) and again we had some problems with the Riqueshaw drivers!! I think we just can not understand them!! Sometimes the fights are just about 20 Rs (note that 1 EUR : 67,74 Rs today), I know it’s peanuts, anyway, the thing of trying to take us more money just because we are Europeans does not fit my head.

Today when we went for dinner to the city center and the on both ways we had problems when we paid to the riqueshaw drivers because they were demanding more money. They ha several excuses as: there was too much traffic; or because the meter is not counting properly; or because they were too far away from their departure point; or even because they are just dumb and they don’t know to distinguish the cash we gave him!!! Ohhh LORD!!!

Now, for instance, before we took the riqueshaw we agreed with the driver to pay the amount of the meter multiplied per 1.5 (since we took the riqueshaw after 10 p.m. we should pay the amount that the meter shows multiplied by 1,5) and we also pay 20 Rs extra. At the end of the journey the meter presented 98 Rs so me and Maria decide to pay him 180 Rs drilldown as follows = 100 * 1.5 + 20 + 10 (as tip). The reaction was totally not the one we expected!!! The driver started to complain that we were not paying him the amount agreed

10 minutes after the discussion ( already with other people around) we finish the issue because the problem was that the old man did not noticed how much Rs we gave him…
